Hadeel Yassin
Teaching Assistant, AXSOS Academy
My name is Hadeel Yassin, 23 years old from Ramallah.I graduated from the civil engineering department, and for some reason I didn’t see myself in civil engineering. In my final year of university, I went to an exchange program in the USA at the University of Central Missouri. That’s when I started to rethink my future.
I knew technology is the future and I wanted to be part of the future. After living diversity in the USA, I wanted to live it every day for the rest of my life. I knew I can work with people around the world who know the same programming languages that I also know.
After coming back, I heard about AXSOS Academy.
The fear of getting out of my comfort zone was stopping me from submitting the application form. However, I was so sure that learning programming is worth the challenge.
With the environment in the academy and the way we were learning, I was enjoying my time even though there were days when I doubted myself, what if this wasn’t the right decision. In those days, I was having support from instructors, the Academy team, and my friends to keep pushing forward.
Now, I am a teacher assistant at AXSOS Academy. Gratefully, I accept the job where I can meet new students, help them and most importantly support them, be there for them when they have those doubt days, and keep reminding them why they here.
Mohamad Shanabli
Software Developer at ASAL Technologies
My name is Mohammad Shanabli. I graduated from Birzeit University with a BE in Civil-Engineering. I have around 5 years professional experience in the field of construction.
A couple of years ago I took a decision to settle in Palestine. Unfortunately, I didn't find an opportunity that I'm looking for in my field due to Palestine situation and the effect of COVID-19.
That time, I started thinking to make a career-shift. And indeed, I started with self-learning until the time I heard about the Youth-Coding-Program sponsored by the government and led by AXSOS Academy. Directly I applied to this program and Al-Hamdullah I was accepted to be part of it.
During this intensive program I dealt with variety of activities that improved my logical thinking and prepared me to enter the HiTech sector by simulating the real work environment. Also, one of the most valuable things I got through this program that it provided me with a guideline to how things connected with each other and full picture for Web-Development cycle.
Al-Hamdullah, I succeeded to join Asal Technologies which is one of reputed companies in Palestine as a Software Developer. Currently, I'm in my training phase and hope to be one of the best developers in the future.
Jehad Jaber
Software Developer at Endeavor Technology
Jehad Jaber, 22 years old , lives in Jenin 'Computer Information Systems student in Al-Quds Open University , Who fell in love with computers since childhood.'
I watched the announcement video in Facebook groups , and applied cause I found this kind of cohort is rare here in Palestine , So I decided to take a step forward in my field and join the AXSOS Academy bootcamp to gain the opportunity to work with dev teams and make the childhood dream a reality !
During the 4 months , I have to live in Ramallah faraway from my home in Jenin , which helps me to get out of my comfort zone, and be more effective during the learning process . In these 4 months , rather than the technical skills I gained , that make me a developer who could work with dev. teams ,
Furthermore, I improved my soft skills in communication, team working, adaptability and even my English speaking! Also I don't forget that this chance made me meet such nice people , expand my social circle and friendships , where we shared knowledge , experiences and learned many things from each other , built nice full-stacks projects in a collaborative work environment.
Salman Khatib
Software Developer at AppiaTech
I always wanted to start a career shift from civil engineering to software engineering after the rapid decline of civil engineering occupation in my country. Long hours of work paid with little money with no hope of getting what I deserve based on my skills.
I have chosen to start learning programming by myself at the beginning and I have faced some difficulties in learning with so many new concepts and problems.
I have chosen to speed my learning by joining a boot camp for programmers (AXSOS Academy). during my time at AXSOS I have learned many new things in both the soft side and technical side , learned the right way to stand in front of a huge audience and present the project which I have done , learned how to work with a team to produce a complete project which contains all our skills.
Moreover, I have learned full stack development in 3 different languages and web fundamentals which I thought would be impossible in this short amount of time, I was able to achieve this thanks to the amazing members at AXSOS academy.
Mohammad Bayatneh
Software Developer at AppiaTech
I am a Computer Engineering student who wanted to pivot my career a bit my getting a better foundation in web development. After researching various programs, I felt that Axsos Academy would be the best match and I think I was right.
All of my instructors were great and all willing to meet and discuss any area I was having a problem with.
The best part of the program was my classmates. I am still close to them and they made it fun. They also helped me a lot. It is a TON of work and I might have dropped without them.
If you do this, put the hours in and grind. It is easy to fall behind, but if you want it, put your head down and work. And follow their 20 minute rule. Struggle for 20 minutes on a problem, if you can't crack it, ask for help. Do NOT fall behind over pride that you think you should figure out something yourself. The course is too much information too fast, you have to keep it going. I would definitely recommend joining Axsos Academy. The enrollment fee might cost a little, but its absolutely worth every penny. I even landed a job before graduating the program.
